General Maintenance Technician

General Maintenance TechnicianThe General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of facility buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained manufacturing environment. This role supports day-to-day operations by addressing maintenance requests, conducting preventative maintenance, and assisting with facility improvements.Responsibilities include:Perform general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and basic HVAC workConduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety concernsRespond to maintenance work orders in a timely and professional mannerPerform preventative maintenance on machinery, tools, and facility systemsRepair or replace fixtures, doors, lighting, flooring, and other facility componentsMaintain shop equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies in good working orderAssist with facility modifications, equipment moves, and layout changesSupport compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policiesMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasCoordinate with outside contractors and vendors as neededDocument completed work, inspections, and repairsQualifications include:High school diploma or GED required2+ years of general maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial environment preferredWorking knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systemsAbility to read work orders, safety instructions, and basic technical documentationStrong understanding of safety practices in an industrial settingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPhysical requirements include:Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independentlyFrequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials requiredGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityAbility to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environmentVisual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defectsMust pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protectionWork environment includes:Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
