Every role at the Y, including the ones behind the scenes in Accounting, helps make that mission possible.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant owns the vendor side of our accounting, including accounts payable, vendor relationships, the fleet fuel program, and fixed assets, and keeps it accurate and on time. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable owning a recurring set of deadlines, and motivated by knowing their work supports a mission-driven organization.Key ResponsibilitiesVendor ManagementMaintain accurate vendor records and required compliance documentation (such as W-9s and insurance certificates), and oversee 1099 reporting, related tax filings, and exemptionsFuel & Credit Card AdministrationAdminister the organization's fleet fuel program and credit card system, including related reporting, refunds, and staff supportAccounts PayableOversee processing of vendor invoices and payments accurately and on schedule, and implement AP process improvementsReconcile and record month-end accruals and vendor-related entriesFixed AssetsMaintain fixed asset and capital project records, record depreciation entries, and reconcile fixed asset accounts as part of month-end closeOtherOther duties as assigned to support department and organizational needsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experienceProficiency with ExcelStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at the same timeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team #J-18808-Ljbffr Ymca
