LOCATION Temple, Texas REPORTS TO President SCOPE 40,000 sq. ft. plant buildout TEAM BUILD 50+ employees ENVIRONMENT High-mix custom manufacturing TRAVEL As business needs require The opportunity Viron International is seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to build and lead the next stage of our Texas operation. This is not a role for someone who wants to inherit a finished plant but for someone looking to build something from the ground up. The person we hire will turn 40,000 square feet of open space into a safe, modern, high-throughput custom manufacturing operation. The Vice President & General Manager will lead facility design, capital equipment selection and installation, workforce planning, hiring, training, production launch, and the implementation of a disciplined operating system. The plant will support rapid growth in custom-fabricated products for demanding industrial and high-technology customers. We are looking for a hands-on builder who can move comfortably between the plant floor and the executive team. The right person will establish a strong Texas operation and have the opportunity to take on broader operational responsibility as Viron continues to grow. What success looks like • A phased facility master plan is approved, budgeted, and executed with the right flow, utilities, safety systems, and expansion capacity. • State-of-the-art fabrication and production equipment is selected, installed, commissioned, and producing at targeted rates. • A leadership team and hourly workforce of 50+ employees is recruited, trained, and retained without compromising quality or culture. • The plant operates with visible daily management, standard work, disciplined scheduling, reliable material flow, and clear accountability. • Capacity, labor productivity, lead time, on-time delivery, first-pass yield, safety, and working capital improve against defined targets. Viron International • Temple, Texas Primary responsibilities VIRON | LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY Build and launch the facility • Own the plant buildout from concept through stable production, including layout, process flow, utilities, construction coordination, equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp. • Develop the capital plan and business cases for equipment, automation, material handling, tooling, and supporting infrastructure. • Lead equipment evaluation and supplier selection; manage specifications, contracts, acceptance criteria, installation schedules, and start-up performance. • Design the plant for safe growth, efficient flow, flexibility, maintainability, quality at the source, and future expansion. • Ensure all applicable environmental, health, safety, permitting, code, and insurance requirements are addressed before launch and throughout operation. Build the organization • Create the organizational structure and workforce plan for the Texas operation, including key salaried leaders, supervisors, technical roles, and hourly teams. • Recruit, assess, hire, onboard, and develop 50+ employees while establishing clear expectations and a high accountability culture. • Build leadership depth and succession plans at every critical level of the plant. • Establish practical training, skills qualification, cross-training, and frontline leader development programs. • Set a culture where safety, quality, urgency, problem solving, and respect for people reinforce one another. Create the operating system • Implement lean manufacturing principles appropriate for a high-mix, custom, engineer-to-order environment—not a copied mass-production system. • Establish daily management, tiered accountability, visual controls, standard work, 5S, problem solving, capacity planning, and continuous improvement routines. • Develop reliable production planning and scheduling across fabrication, welding, finishing/coating, assembly, inspection, and shipping. • Use data and plant-floor observation to identify constraints, reduce queue time and rework, and increase throughput without sacrificing quality. • Partner with engineering and commercial teams to improve manufacturability, order readiness, change control, and customer delivery performance. Own performance • Own the Texas operating budget and plant-level financial performance, including labor, overhead, capital, inventory, and operating expense. • Build and maintain a KPI system covering safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, productivity, throughput, backlog, and working capital. • Present clear operating plans, risks, decisions, and performance updates to the President and executive team. • Respond quickly to changing customer demand while protecting schedule integrity and long-term capacity.
