Shipping & Receiving Clerk

High-End Industrial Manufacturing - Northern Alabama

Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations by managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and verifying orders. As part of a small team, this role involves the use of warehouse management software alongside paper-based documentation to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory control
Must have good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, and or measure items of incoming /outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, purchase orders, or other records
Coordinate shipping and receiving activities
Verify incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy
Keep detailed records using mixed digital and physical documentation
Inventory cycle counts
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
Package and label products appropriately
Perform quality inspections of shipments
Organize the warehouse to maximize space and efficiency

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year experience in shipping and receiving

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with inventory management
Forklift operation certification or experience
Knowledge of logistics coordination
Familiarity with shipping documentation
Strong data entry skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Effective time management abilities
Good communication skills
