Position Summary

The Child Development Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, promoting social and emotional development, and ensuring the overall well-being of each child.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and lesson implementation
• Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
• Support childrens social, emotional, and physical development
• Engage children in play-based learning activities
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with staff and families
• Assist with feeding, diapering, and personal care as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (early childhood education coursework preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, etc.)
• Must be able to pass background check and meet state licensing requirements

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of child development principles
• Experience in a licensed childcare setting
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
