Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical with Psychiatric Specialty

D/E/N Rotating Shift Schedule, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback.

Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Registered Nurses for a unique adult medical/surgical unit specializing in patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. This expanding unit offers a great opportunity to work in a flexible and dynamic environment. Med/surg acute care experience is preferred, and a willingness to care for a varied patient population in a changing environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with medical and surgical needs.
• Manage patients with concurrent psychiatric conditions, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with telemetry as needed.
• Advocate for patients' needs and communicate effectively with families and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing required.
• Telemetry experience required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
