ASPYRE of Bronzeville is seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Director to lead our team. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility standards.

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Director oversees the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the facility consistently meets high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention. This position is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, managing department schedules, maintaining inventory, and fostering a culture of excellence that enhances the resident experience.

Essential Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.

• Develop, assign, and monitor housekeeping schedules to ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently.

• Coordinate housekeeping services with Nursing and other departments to minimize disruption to resident care.

• Ensure resident rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other facility spaces are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.

• Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure quality performance and adherence to facility policies.

• Maintain compliance with infection prevention protocols, OSHA standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

• Ensure proper handling, mixing, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.

• Monitor housekeeping supply inventory and submit orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.

• Inspect completed work regularly and implement corrective actions when necessary.

• Promote a safe work environment by ensuring staff use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe cleaning practices.

• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests, resident concerns, and emergency cleaning situations.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience required.

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare environment strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of infection prevention practices, cleaning procedures, and environmental services operations.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding cleaning products, disinfectants, and safety procedures.

• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
