St. Louis was an early, passionate supporter of library services to children, and that remains a core value and mission. Outreach into our varied communities, marketing the Library’s remarkable strengths, and working with civic and cultural partners to benefit St. Louisans are all closely held values and goals at the Library. AboutCentral Library: Central Library opened to the public on January 6, 1912, after more than four years of construction. As Central Library neared 100 years of service, a remarkable group of St. Louisans worked together to restore and renew this great Library and prepare it for the digital world of the 21st Century. #J-18808-Ljbffr St Louis Public Library
