Senior .NET Developer

Job Summary:

The Senior Developer DTMB Agency Services (DNR) role involves providing expert technical support and development for the Department of Natural Resources, focusing on enhancing public-facing applications such as the Michigan burn-permit availability tool. The position requires translating business needs into scalable technical solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with agency goals within a hybrid work environment based in Lansing, Michigan. Responsibilities:

Develop and enhance applications supporting DNR, including public-facing tools. Collaborate with business analysts and agency stakeholders to clarify requirements and design solutions. Translate business needs into system architecture, technical specifications, and development tasks. Support project and work-request activities through coding, testing, debugging, and deployment. Participate in discovery sessions, elicitation activities, and process modeling. Provide expert guidance on technical feasibility, constraints, standards, and policies. Maintain strong communication with agency partners for transparency throughout the development lifecycle. Support operational activities and act as a key member of the technical team. Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions. Ensure compliance with security, accessibility, and quality standards. Required Skills & Certifications:

4-7 years of experience in .NET, MS SQL Server, and ANGULAR development. Strong experience developing enterprise applications with maintainable and scalable code. Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and working software. Excellent communication, customer-service mindset, and stakeholder-relationship skills. Ability to quickly learn new technical environments and understand system dependencies. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements. Bachelor s Degree (preferred). Must be located within 100 miles of Lansing, Michigan at time of submission. Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in structured environments with standards, methodologies, and governance processes. Special Considerations:

Hybrid work schedule with mandatory on-site presence in office 2 days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays). Candidate must acknowledge and confirm hybrid work schedule and valid Right to Represent.
