About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience, with orthopedic experience required. License: North Carolina or Compact license required. Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: MUST HAVE orthopedic work experience. Unit will accept 1st time travelers with Epic experience. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to cancellation. Unit will accept contracts of 20 weeks or more up to February 27, 2027, to support staffing through the holidays. Expect a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5-6:1, which can flex up to 7:1 only in extreme cases. Nurses will be floating to other medical-surgical units as needed based on census. Every other weekend coverage is required, and nurses must make up any missed shifts on weekends. The daily patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients. Nurses will be required to stay on top of pain management for patients. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of position. Holiday RTO cannot be approved. COVID-19 vaccination is not required, while flu vaccination is required with medical or religious exemptions only.
