Staff Accountant (Project Accounting Focus)
Summary
A growing, collaborative professional services firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a fast-paced accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys full-cycle accounting with project-based work.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices and maintain vendor relationships
- Manage weekly check runs and expense reports (review receipts, coding, and reimbursements)
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and track project-related expenses
- Ensure accurate entry and organization within ERP system
Accounts Receivable / Billing
- Support month-end billing cycle, including reviewing pre-bills and preparing client invoices
- Validate project details, reimbursables, and G/L coding
- Process invoice adjustments and replacements as needed
Qualifications
- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in project-based environments (architecture, design, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Vantagepoint a plus)
- Strong Excel and systems proficiency
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Additional Details
- M-F, 9am-6pm, Hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite)
