Advance Practice Provider - Electrophysiology

Position Overview The Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an exciting opportunity to join a specialized cardiology team focused on the evaluation and care of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders. The APP will work closely with electrophysiology physicians and multidisciplinary partners to provide comprehensive care for patients with arrhythmias, device management needs, and other complex cardiac conditions. The role may include both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with opportunities to evaluate patients independently, support diagnostic and therapeutic treatment planning, and assist with procedures as appropriate. Experience in electrophysiology and general cardiology is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, collaborative, and ready to make a meaningful impact for patients receiving advanced cardiac care. Schedule Full‑time, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday‑Friday Exempt position Schedule may include a combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities Hours may vary based on clinic, procedural, and service needs Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care to individuals and families with cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart failure in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting for medical patients. Evaluate for emergent medical conditions including ACS, STEMI, life‑threatening arrhythmias, and cardiogenic shock. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with a designated supervising physician. Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical and/or surgical procedures. Required Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience (two years of RN experience equals one year of APRN experience) Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or a current compact state Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) ACLS certification (American Heart Association endorsed program) Appropriate certification based on position, department and population served: Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP‑BC) Adult (ANP‑BC) Physician Assistant Master’s degree from an ARC‑PA approved Physician Assistant program OR bachelor’s degree with ten years of current active Physician Assistant experience and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice OR if bachelor’s degree with less than ten years current active experience sign a written agreement consenting to obtain a Master’s degree from an ARC‑PA approved Program within three years from date of transfer or hire and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours to meet State of Nebraska and NCCPA Certification requirements Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Nebraska (or eligible for license prior to beginning to provide care) Both Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Ability to function with autonomy and make independent decisions while part of a comprehensive team Effective verbal and written communication skills Critical thinking and analytical skills Efficient use of information systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and audiovisual teaching/education resources Ability to comprehend and follow policy, procedure, guidelines and protocols Flexibility and dedication to team involvement and supporting organizational goals Knowledge of health care policy and societal factors affecting care delivery Familiar with patient care equipment as relevant to specialty area Federal Drug Administration (DEA) licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Preferred Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP‑BC) certification Physician Assistant Prior experience working in a related healthcare field as a Physician Assistant Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
