Accounting Intern

Trinity Capital Inc. (Nasdaq: TRIN) is an international alternative asset manager that seeks to deliver consistent returns for investors through access to private credit markets. We are looking for an eager professional to join our world‑class team as a part‑time Accounting Intern in Phoenix, Arizona. Description The Accounting Internship offers hands‑on experience in the Trinity Capital Finance Department focusing on Financial Accounting & Reporting with exposure to Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Investment Valuation. The Intern will develop a broad understanding of corporate accounting, treasury and reporting operations as well as gain experience within ERP systems and financial reporting tools. To be successful as an Accounting Intern, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills including strong Excel skills, be detail‑oriented, highly organized, and perform under pressure. Responsibilities Assist in day‑to‑day accounting and loan servicing. Assist with monthly and quarterly closing procedures, GAAP financial statements, and the preparation of supporting documentation. Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses. Help ensure AP activities comply with internal controls and SOX requirements. Perform other accounting duties as required or assigned. Collaborate with FP&A, Valuations, and Treasury teams on projects. Flexible: able to thrive in a dynamic, deadline driven environment while serving the needs of multiple entities Experience: Upperclassman in Accounting Major Overall GPA of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale) Knowledge of financial statement production, including balance sheet; income statement; and general ledger Financial analysis skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel Completion of Intermediate Accounting or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
