Registered Nurse - Observation Unit

This position requires a skilled Registered Nurse to assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge in nursing practices and the ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patients/clients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as outlined in the physician's authorized plan of care.
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, and responding to inquiries and alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to update and revise these plans to enhance patient care.
• Process physician/provider orders and perform ordered care accurately and timely.
• Follow up on medication changes and clarifications as necessary.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a 36-hour guarantee.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of observation nursing experience (required).
• Epic EMR experience is preferred.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• Current Michigan RN License (active status required).
• Skills checklist pertinent to Ambulatory nursing, current to within 1 year (required).
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required).
