This positions operates in a fully remote telehealth setting, allowing for flexible work arrangements that can accommodate your lifestyle while providing vital mental health services. As a telehealth counselor, you will connect with clients via secure video conferencing platforms, making it essential to be comfortable with technology and delivering effective therapy in a digital medium. Our team utilizes electronic health records (EHR), specifically systems like AVATAR, to manage client documentation, treatment plans, and progress tracking effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform initial client interviews to assess mental, behavioral, and emotional health, gathering comprehensive information to inform treatment approaches.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and group therapy sessions, ensuring that each plan is personalized to meet clients’ specific needs.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic methodologies that foster a safe, non-judgmental space.

• Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and providing ongoing support to help clients achieve their health and wellness goals.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, healthcare providers, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care and share insights into client treatment plans.

• Engage in follow-up communications with clients and their caregivers, addressing any challenges and providing resources for further support.

• Identify and navigate behaviors that may hinder the recovery process, employing strategies to encourage positive change and resilience.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clientele will include a wide spectrum of individuals facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, and addiction issues. As a mental health counselor, you will be instrumental in promoting the psychological well-being of not just the individual, but also the families involved. By engaging family members and primary caregivers, you can support them in the management of their loved ones’ behavioral challenges, thereby fostering a holistic treatment approach.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.

• Pass score achieved on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong foundation in psychotherapy principles, with an emphasis on latest mental health treatment modalities and best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and an ability to engage clients empathetically and effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in an outpatient mental health setting or teletherapy environment, demonstrating a familiarity with remote counseling practices.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for documentation and case management.

• Background in dealing with complex emotional and physical health conditions, including addiction disorders, and an understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
