Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 3 - 12 Hour days shifts per week, including some weekends.

Job Summary/Purpose : Ashley River Tower (ART) 6 West is a 21-bed acute care unit providing care to patients with various diagnoses. 6 West (6W) commonly cares for patients admitted on general medicine services, plus specialty services, including GI surgery, surgical oncology, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery. Additionally, 6W cares for patients admitted on cardiology, CT surgery, hematology/oncology, and/or other services as appropriate based on patient needs. The nursing staff on ART 6W is trained to utilize various devices, tools, and techniques to assist in delivering safe patient care. Nurse: patient ratios range from 1:4-1:5. Our nurses enjoy an educational, collaborative work environment with all members of the care team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and other ancillary staff. This highly connected team is driven, innovative, supportive, and teamwork centered.

Minimum Training and Education : Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
