Registered Nurse - Telemetry

This position involves providing care for pre and post-operative surgical cardiovascular patients. The role includes monitoring medical cardiac patients requiring progressive care. Patients may include vascular patients, amputations, and detox patients. The clinician will work weekends on an every-other-weekend schedule. Floating to different areas within scope may be required to meet facility needs. The position has a goal of a 4:1 patient ratio, with potential stretching to 5:1 in certain situations. LPNs work on the unit, which may affect the management of patient ratios. Required skills include managing drips, telemetry, and performing wound care. Candidates must be able to start and maintain IVs, manage cardiac drips without titration, and provide care for chest tubes. Documentation will be performed using a specific electronic health record system.
