Specialist, Workforce Development Location: Remote within California, 15% travel. Primary remote location within 2 hours of FoundationCCC headquarters in Sacramento and in one of the North or Far North Region counties listed: Colusa El Dorado Nevada Placer Sacramento Sutter Yolo Yuba Butte Del Norte Glenn Humboldt Lake Lassen Mendocino Modoc Plumas Shasta Sierra Siskiyou Tehama Trinity What You’ll Do The Specialist will focus on Workforce Development Department (WDD) grants administration projects. This includes: Supporting the execution of contracts with awardees, ensuring appropriate use of funds, and providing guidance to awardees. Reviewing and approving awardee invoices, performing report analysis, and capturing lessons and successes to share internally and externally. Providing oversight of assigned awardees and projects, including negotiating contract scopes and budgets, reviewing invoices, monitoring fiscal and program compliance, and performance. Leading program reporting and award management activities, providing guidance to awardees, reviewing reports, summarizing data, and ensuring alignment with related guidance and regulations. Tracking project/award specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business development relationships. Developing and coordinating funding application processes in collaboration with the Senior Specialist. Attributes for Success Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver quality products within agreed-upon timeframes, with limited supervision. Experience with the California Community College system and/or Workforce Development (preferred). Research, analysis, synthesis, and communication of complex topics to a variety of internal and external audiences in a variety of formats (e.g., toolkits, reports, graphic displays, presentations). Experience with project and client management software (e.g., Asana, Salesforce) (preferred). Experience with Excel (required). Experience with grants administration from a funder's perspective and familiarity with state and federal funding. Willingness to engage in constructive discussion and maintain a customer service mindset. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, good driving record, automobile insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle. Qualifications Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel and project management tools. Experience in grants administration and familiarity with funding regulations. Excellent communication skills across multiple audiences.
