About This Role The Staff Nurse- Chemo Infusion RN at Mount Sinai Morningside is responsible for providing care activities and achieving goals for assigned patients in the Hematology Oncology unit. This per diem role is ideal for nurses who excel in patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration within a care team. Highlights Pay: $85.9387/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Morningside Department/Unit: Hematology Oncology - STL Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift What You’ll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharge consistent with the patient's status and facilitate inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members and act as a preceptor and resource person. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Assign patient care reflecting awareness of patient needs and personnel skill levels. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and the unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Requirements Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year Experience Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials Licenses & Certifications Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (Required for L&D, NICU) PALS certification (Required for ED, PACU, IR, Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology) About Mount Sinai Mount Sinai Health System is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
