Crisis Services Specialist

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Client & Family Services, the Crisis Services Specialist is responsible for the project management and development of Crisis Services on behalf of individuals who are forensically involved, may be in the process of transitioning from a State Developmental Center (SDC) into the community, at risk for SDC placement, incarcerated, or under court jurisdiction. The incumbent will also assist with resource development, vendoring, tracking, and quality assurance of crisis services, and facilitate the referral process between the Center and the Crisis Service provider to ensure success in the community and crisis intervention using a team approach. Education & Experience To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent will be required to have advanced knowledge, principles, techniques and trends of Applied Behavioral Analysis. The incumbent will also possess advanced knowledge and a solid understanding of developmental disabilities and related conditions. Strong knowledge of Regional Center vendorization and quality assurance is highly preferred. Must be able to effectively utilize and apply required knowledge, establish and maintain effective working relationships, secure accurate data and record such data systematically. In addition, the incumbent will have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a culturally sensitive manner and work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. Will have the ability to establish and set priorities, meet deadlines, analyze situations accurately and take prompt and effective action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will be required have a Master’s degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Human Services, or closely related field plus three (3) years of experience in behavioral sciences. Licensure in clinical mental health field is strongly preferred (LMFT, LCSW). A Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) may be considered in lieu of the advanced degree with a minimum of five (5) years paid work experience in behavioral science with individuals with I/DD and coexisting mental health conditions. This position requires travel Statewide and overnight travel on an as needed basis. Valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and adequate transportation to fulfill position responsibility is also required.
