We are seeking a Medical Legal Analyst to join our team and provide critical analytical support for cases involving medical issues in family law matters.

Position Overview

The Medical Legal Analyst will serve as the bridge between clinical medicine and the legal team, applying healthcare expertise to support family law cases that involve medical complexities. This role is ideal for a registered nurse or other healthcare professional looking to transition from clinical practice into the legal field. You will review medical records, prepare detailed chronologies, identify key clinical issues, and provide analytical support for cases involving custody, personal injury, or other family law matters where medical evidence is central.

While the firm focuses on family law, your work will directly support attorneys by translating complex medical information into clear, actionable insights for case strategy and litigation.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Record Analysis

• Review and analyze medical records from hospitals, physicians, long term care facilities, and other healthcare providers.
• Sort, paginate, and organize medical documentation using professional standards.
• Prepare detailed medical chronologies that identify significant medical events, treatments, and outcomes.
• Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or duplicate records within medical documentation.

Case Support and Strategy

• Compare records from multiple providers to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
• Develop comprehensive case summaries that highlight key medical findings relevant to legal proceedings.
• Build evidence matrices linking important facts to supporting records.
• Assist attorneys with litigation support documents and draft materials as requested.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and medical information.
• Ensure all work complies with client requirements and quality standards.
• Support compliance with legal and regulatory standards in case preparation.

Communication and Collaboration

• Work closely with attorneys, experts, and internal teams to support case development.
• Communicate professionally regarding case progress and identified issues.
• Provide clinical expertise to help guide case strategy and decision making.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• 1 or more years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in critical care, emergency, or acute care settings.
• Experience with medical record review, audits, or investigations preferred.
• Legal or paralegal experience a plus, but not required.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro for document organization preferred.
• Reliable broadband connection and appropriate home office setup for remote work.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary

• 70,000 to 100,000 dollars per year, based on experience and qualifications.
