About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as the President's senior strategic and operational partner. The successful candidate will be responsible for extending the President's capacity to lead and translating institutional priorities into coordinated action. This role involves providing strategic counsel, overseeing high-priority initiatives, and ensuring the effective operation of the Office of the President. The Chief of Staff will also serve as a trusted liaison to the Board of Trustees and key internal and external constituents, and will be expected to advance the institution's mission, strategic plan, and reputation through sound judgment, clear communication, and collaborative problem-solving. Applicants for the Chief of Staff position at the company should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and a background in higher education leadership, public administration, business, communications, public policy, or a related area. The role requires substantial experience in supporting an executive, leading strategic initiatives, and managing complex work, preferably in a higher education, government, nonprofit, or similarly complex environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coordinating work across functions, influencing outcomes, and handling confidential and sensitive matters with integrity. Strong project management, organizational, research, analysis, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience in executive communications, government or community relations, fundraising support, or organizational change is also desirable.
