Business Analyst 4

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support application modernization and technology transformation initiatives involving microservices, APIs, data workflows, and modern application development . The Business Analyst will work closely with developers, architects, QA teams, and business/operational stakeholders to gather requirements, create user stories, define acceptance criteria, document business processes, and support Agile delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business and system analysis, Agile/Scrum methodologies, API requirements, Azure DevOps, SQL, and requirements documentation .
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for application modernization initiatives.
Work with technical and business stakeholders to define requirements for APIs, microservices, system workflows, and data processes .
Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, workflow documentation, and functional requirements .
Collaborate with developers, software architects, QA testers, product/business teams, and operational stakeholders .
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies , backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification sessions.
Use Azure DevOps Boards to create, manage, and track backlog items and user stories.
Translate business requirements into clear and actionable technical requirements for development teams.
Provide clarification and support throughout the software development lifecycle.
Assist QA teams with requirements validation, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and defect clarification .
Review completed functionality against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
Develop and maintain process maps, workflow diagrams, requirements documentation, and traceability materials .
Perform basic SQL queries and data analysis to validate requirements and understand relational data.
Facilitate communication between technical and business stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
Support sprint objectives, cross-team coordination, and application modernization activities.
Required Qualifications
experience in Business Analysis and/or Systems Analysis.
Strong experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements .
Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria .
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Boards or similar Agile project management tools.
Experience working with APIs and application modernization initiatives .
Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases .
Strong requirements documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders .
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microservices architecture .
Experience supporting software modernization or digital transformation projects.
Experience in transportation, tolling, government, regulatory, or compliance-driven environments .
Experience working with distributed technical teams.
Experience providing business analysis and QA/requirements validation support .
