Regional Operations Manager - Site Built

Job Summary Regional Operations Manager responsible for the performance and profitability of our Berlin, NJ and Wilton, NH facilities. Oversees daily management and coordination of production and support services – HR, safety, shipping, maintenance, and other administrative functions. Requires 50% travel and flexibility to locate at either facility. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop the operations, production, and administrative management team; evaluate performance and implement corrective actions. Analyze plant(s) performance against budget, identify variances, and develop plans to meet operating budgets and ROI expectations. Ensure proper management and safeguarding of plant assets and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Develop and approve production objectives, short- and long‑term operating plans, and new product development initiatives. Determine optimal pricing for finished goods to maximize profitability and maintain product costing and burden accuracy. Optimize manufacturing operations – cuts, yields, and “mfg. for margin” opportunities – to improve margins. Approve account payables, payroll, and specific operating policies and procedures as required. Participate as an active member of the plant Safety Committee and ensure operations align with safety policies and OSHA requirements. Prepare and submit required operational reports and coordinate with the corporate finance team on inventory control and cycle count activities. Develop and recommend operating budgets and capital expenditure plans. Qualifications Minimum three years of experience as a plant manager with a background in light gauge products, preferably roof/floor trusses and wall panels. Demonstrated leadership in managing production, administrative, and safety functions. Experience in plant performance evaluation, budgeting, and cost management. Knowledge of product costing, burden calculation, and mfg. margin optimization. Strong communication skills and ability to build collaborative teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Management tools such as Planner. Familiarity with UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines is a preferred asset. Compensation and Benefits Starting base pay: $85,000–$125,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
