Make a meaningful impact supporting students with significant behavioral and social-emotional needs in an educational setting renowned for its dedicated staff and transformative programming. This contract opportunity is based at Meridian Academy, a specialized program serving middle and high school students requiring intensive support as outlined in their IEPs. The role is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering positive change in students’ lives while collaborating with a team committed to individualized, holistic care.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider (SSP) License, with School Psychologist or School Social Worker endorsement
- Experience working with middle or high school students exhibiting severe behavioral and emotional challenges, including settings such as facility placements or day treatment programs
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance, including conducting evaluations, participating in meetings, and program development
- Professionalism and adaptability in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete a district-required background check and fingerprinting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive mental health services and behavior interventions for students in grades 6-12, as outlined in IEPs
- Closely collaborate with program staff to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth
- Conduct assessments, attend IEP meetings, and contribute to individualized education planning
- Maintain confidential and accurate documentation consistent with federal, state, and district policies
- Provide support and guidance to both students and staff regarding effective behavioral strategies
