Health and Safety SpecialistThe Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. This role supports the implementation of health and safety programs, ensures compliance with OSHA and company regulations, conducts audits and investigations, and partners with operations leadership to reduce workplace risks and incidents.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessmentsEnsure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulationsInvestigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actionsDevelop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and proceduresDeliver safety training, onboarding, and toolbox talks for employees and contractorsMonitor PPE compliance and ensure proper usage throughout the facilityMaintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentationSupport emergency preparedness and response planningPartner with operations and leadership teams to drive continuous safety improvement initiativesTrack safety metrics and provide recommendations to reduce incidents and improve performanceAssist with workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred2–5 years of experience in a health and safety roleStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standardsExperience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysisExcellent communication and training skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systemsPreferred Certifications:OSHA 30CSP (Certified Safety Professional)CHSTNEBOSHFirst Aid/CPR CertificationWork Environment:Combination of office and field/warehouse/manufacturing environmentAbility to walk facilities, lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally work flexible hours as neededBenefits:Competitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunitiesProfessional development and certification supportAbout DP World:Trade is the lifeblood of the global economy, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for people around the world.
