The candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-paced Agile team environment, partnering closely with business and technology teams across global locations.The ideal candidate will bring deep experience leading software engineering teams responsible for complex enterprise applications, a strong understanding of financial services and investment accounting workflows, and proven success modernizing large-scale legacy systems. The candidate will help drive the evolution of the platform through modernization initiatives, adoption of contemporary engineering practices, and selective use of cloud capabilities where they deliver measurable business valueWhat you will be responsible forAs Software Engineering & Development Lead, Vice President you will:Lead a software engineering team responsible for enhancing and supporting a business-critical portfolio accounting and middle-office application.Drive the planning and execution of application modernization initiatives, evolving a Windows-based Visual C++ platform toward a modern distributed architecture with web-based user experiences and Java-based services.Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architecture, infrastructure, and risk teams to deliver strategic technology solutions aligned with business priorities.Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable, maintainable, and operationally resilient software solutions.Oversee solution design, software development, production readiness, and operational stability.Lead Agile delivery activities, including release planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution across global teams.Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.Communicate technology strategy, delivery progress, dependencies, and risks to senior leadership.Evaluate and adopt modern engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development capabilities, automation tooling, and cloud services where appropriate to enhance development efficiency and platform capabilities.Provide hands-on leadership and support during critical delivery initiatives and complex production challenges.What we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleStrong understanding of investment accounting, portfolio accounting, financial reporting, and related business processes within the financial services industry.Proven experience delivering technology solutions for financial services organizations, particularly in accounting, investment operations, regulatory reporting, or middle-office platforms.Extensive experience in enterprise application architecture and distributed systems design.Strong programming background in Visual C++ and Java, with demonstrated experience modernizing large-scale legacy applications.Database experience with current Oracle DB versions, including SQL, PL/SQL Development, and other Oracle services/features.Experience designing and implementing:Event-driven architecturesMicroservices and domain-driven design principlesHigh-performance and low-latency systemsStrong understanding of transaction processing, reconciliation, data integrity, and accounting-centric system design.Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems with high throughput and strong reliability requirements.Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and modern DevOps practices, with an understanding of how cloud technologies can support enterprise application modernization.Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to improve developer productivity, code quality, and software delivery effectiveness.Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.Education & Preferred QualificationsThese skills will help you succeed in this role12+ years of experience developing enterprise applications and large-scale data processing solutions.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Experience working in multi-platform, multi-database, and multi-language application environments.Experience leading Agile software delivery teams and adhering to SDLC, governance, and risk management processes.Hands-on experience with modern web technologies, including ReactJS or similar front-end frameworks, as well as microservices concepts, including Spring Boot or similar platform.Experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions utilizing cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.Familiarity with cloud-native services, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, application security, and observability practices.Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, and service-oriented application design.Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development workflows.Experience within the financial services industry, with exposure to investment accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or capital markets platforms strongly preferredAdditional requirementsRegular collaboration with offshore teams in India and China, as well as management and technical teams on the U.S. East Coast, is required.Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build partnerships across business and technology organizations.Work RequirementOnsite 2 days a week in office and three days remoteStandard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs(8am to 5pm)Salary Range: $125,000 - $215,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
