Medical Billing SpecialistPeople Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our Billing department. This position is Responsible for timely billing, resolving accounts receivable and customer service per department procedure and policy. This position reports to the Billing Manager and will interact on a regular basis with program and finance staff.Schedule: Full-Time, 1.0FTE, Monday-Friday, regular business hours.Location: Fully In-Person (Ames Impact Center: 3000 Ames Crossing Rd, Suite 600, Eagan, MN 55121)Hiring Range: $24.29- $25.87/Hourly, plus $1,000 hiring bonus for external applicants.People Incorporated Mental Health Services is the largest nonprofit mental health provider in Minnesota. For over 50 years, we have been a leading community partner, transforming the health of our communities through innovative solutions.Main Job Duties:Responsible for creating and maintaining billing files so invoices are created timely for individuals, insurance companies, state, and county office.Perform various collection actions which include follow up on past due receivables, resubmit claims to third party payers, send written communication or other electronic outreach.Work with program and/or middle office to review program charges via various resources including at times clinical documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture.Maintain all internal and external documentation of action taken and provide status updates in accordance with organization policies and procedures.Answer incoming calls to the billing lineAs directed by the Billing Manager, participate in audit preparation and responding to questions as needed.Attendance is an essential function of this position.Performing all other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High School degree or equivalentTwo years prior billing and reconciliation experiencePreferred Qualifications:Associates of Arts degree in business or accountingKnowledge of financial reporting and medical codingOne year experience utilizing MN-ITS and PMAP/Commercial payersPrior medical billing and reconciliation experience for various mental health programsPrior medical billing experience within a not-for-profit work environmentBenefits:Accrue up to 112 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO)Accrue up to 48 hours of Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) in accordance with state and local requirementsFor full-time employees, up to 8 paid holidays per calendar year (4 company-designated holidays and 4 floating holidays that are prorated based on date of hire)403(b) Retirement Savings Plan with a 3% employer-matchMultiple health and dental insurance plan choices availableLifestyle Benefit – choice between company contribution to health savings account, student loan repayment assistance, or flex timeEmployer-paid Short & Long-Term Disability Insurance & Life InsuranceFree access to People Incorporated's Training Institute, offering free CEUs and a wide array of learning and education opportunitiesEligibility for state and federal loan forgiveness programsWe are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions.
