Billing Specialist

Billing SpecialistWe are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team and support our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in billing processes, maintaining customer accounts, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of invoicing records. If you're detail-oriented and customer-focused with a solid understanding of billing and accounts receivable, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:Serve as an intermediary between departments to resolve billing and purchase order issues with customers.Create and maintain accurate customer accounts.Maintain compliance with all applicable sales tax laws and regulations.Investigate and correct billing errors and inconsistencies as needed.Collaborate with internal labs or departments to ensure billing data is complete and accurate.Manage customer portal billings, special billing requests, consolidated invoices, and web order transactions.Communicate with customers regarding account balances and follow up on aging accounts receivable reports.Maintain organized accounting records, both digital and paper-based.Assist with other related tasks and projects as assigned by management.Qualifications:Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).1–2 years of related billing or accounts receivable experience.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Experience with billing software and accounting systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
