About the Opportunity

A growing manufacturing operation is looking for a dependable Material Handler to support warehouse, logistics, and production operations.

This is a hands-on role responsible for moving work-in-process materials throughout the facility, staging inventory for production, receiving and storing steel coils, weighing materials, scanning inventory, and ensuring products are accurately identified and placed in the correct location.

The ideal candidate has previous warehouse or manufacturing experience, is highly comfortable operating a forklift in tight production environments, and understands the importance of inventory accuracy, safety, organization, and communication in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

What You’ll Do

• Pull and stage inventory and materials according to pick sheets and production requirements
• Transport materials throughout different phases of the manufacturing process
• Safely operate a forklift in warehouse and narrow production areas
• Receive, move, and properly store steel coils and other production materials
• Use RF scanners to track inventory, scan product and bin locations, and move materials between production stages
• Scan coil tags and assign materials to the appropriate production equipment
• Weigh bins and materials and generate the appropriate inventory and identification labels
• Verify the quantity, quality, labeling, and location of incoming and outgoing materials
• Stage materials in the appropriate warehouse, production, or designated storage locations
• Maintain accurate inventory and stock records
• Assist with inventory shortages and help locate missing or incorrectly stored materials
• Work with warehouse, logistics, production, and other internal teams to resolve inventory or delivery issues
• Prepare and print required paperwork and material labels
• Complete required production, inventory, and technical documentation
• Follow established scrap-handling and material-weighing procedures
• Support production changeovers by ensuring required materials are available and correctly staged
• Maintain material-handling equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow established 5S, housekeeping, safety, and PPE requirements
• Communicate material status and operational issues during shift changes
• Assist throughout the warehouse and production operation as business needs require
• Work weekends when necessary
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–2+ years of warehouse, receiving, material handling, or similar experience
• Strong forklift operating experience, particularly in narrow production or warehouse environments
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Ability to use RF scanners for inventory transactions
• SAP experience preferred
• Experience receiving, staging, storing, or transporting raw materials or work-in-process inventory
• Strong attention to detail when scanning, weighing, labeling, and moving materials
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to troubleshoot inventory and material-flow issues
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work weekends when required

Working Environment

This position works in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to production noise, oils, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Candidates must be comfortable wearing required Personal Protective Equipment and working around industrial production equipment.

The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing. Candidates must be able to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted and handle loads of up to approximately 35 pounds as required.
