Safety & Occupational Health Manager

Job Overview The Quality Inspector ensures that all manufactured plastic sheet and roll products meet customer specifications and Granite State Manufacturing’s internal quality standards. This role performs in‑process and final inspections to verify conformance to product specifications and quality objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports first piece, in‑process, and final inspections. Completes receiving inspection on purchased components, supplier processed components, etc. Reads blueprints or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances. Verifies specified dimensions using measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, and height stands. Rejects defective parts and marks type of defect on part, container, and inspection tag. Writes reports regarding inspection and testing results. Supports inspection duties, quality objectives, and the Quality Management System. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Must be flexible enough to work in all areas of operation per the direction of the Leadership. Assists other areas in support of product conformity. Facilitates effective communications and working relationships (including answering department phone). Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment: being at work on time, following policies, wearing safety glasses, maintaining a neat area, and following safety practices. Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with managers, directors, and workers, and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals. Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations. Requirements Certification from college or technical school, or three years related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances. Basic knowledge of plating, chromate irradiate, tin plating, hard coat, anodize, aluminum, delrin, steel, stainless steel. Must be able to work independently without supervision. All candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable export‑control/ITAR regulations or otherwise be authorized to access export‑controlled information per U.S. law.
