Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit position requiring an active PA or compact RN license and at least one year of telemetry experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 6:30-19:00) and night shift (3x12 hours, 18:30-7:00) schedules available
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with blood product administration, port access/management, and starting/maintaining IVs preferred
• Experience with bowel obstruction care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care preferred
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation preferred
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac preferred
• Experience in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and Telemetry settings preferred
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oxygen tanks
• Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacement care preferred
• Experience with pre/post neurosurgery care and substance withdrawal management preferred
• Experience with surgical drain management preferred
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols preferred

Additional Information

• Not accepting local candidates for this position
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Background concerns must be disclosed prior to consideration
• Social security number, date of birth, and requested time off must be provided at the time of consideration
• Two supervisor references are preferred
