CNC Lathe Operator / MachinistHiFyve is hiring a CNC Lathe Operator / Machinist in the Manufacturing industry in Queens, NY!Pay: $20 – $35/hour (depending on experience)Shift: 2nd Shift (must train on 1st shift for several months)Location: Queens, NYBenefits: Full benefits packageAbout the RoleWe're seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator / Machinist to produce high-precision parts for aerospace and defense applications. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work within tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes to machine precision components from steel and specialty alloysRead and interpret blueprints, machining print tolerances, and production specificationsAdjust tooling and programs as needed; inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gaugesTroubleshoot machine issues (tool wear, chatter, axis drift) and perform minor preventive maintenanceMaintain production logs, monitor scrap rates, and communicate equipment issues to maintenanceFollow all ISO 9001/AS9100 quality and safety standardsCollaborate with quality and engineering teams to support process improvementsQualifications2–3+ years of CNC lathe operating experience (preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing)Skilled in hard turning and maintaining tight tolerancesStrong blueprint reading and precision measurement abilitiesWilling to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd shift; able to work overtime as neededIf you're interested, please apply!
