Regional Director - ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION

Position Overview

The Regional Director is responsible for overseeing branch operations, financial performance, project delivery, and team development across multiple electrical construction projects. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this client-facing leadership role requires strong relationship-building skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence.

The successful candidate will lead and develop project teams, strengthen customer and vendor relationships, ensure projects are delivered safely and profitably, and drive continuous improvement across the region. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of assigned branch operations.
• Monitor and analyze costs, revenue, billings, projections, margins, gains, fades, commitments, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Evaluate performance metrics, identify root causes of financial issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Establish financial accountability and ensure projects meet profitability and budget targets.

Leadership and Team Development

• Define team roles, responsibilities, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Mentor, train, and develop team members to support career progression and professional growth.
• Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Delegate effectively, lead productive meetings, strengthen team morale, and promote a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Encourage continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.

Estimating and Change Order Management

• Oversee project estimating and change order development.
• Identify scope requirements, discrepancies, and potential gaps.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing, quotations, and scopes of work.
• Negotiate change orders with customers while protecting project profitability and maintaining strong client relationships.

Project Scheduling and Execution

• Develop and manage project schedules while ensuring alignment with general contractor schedules.
• Apply pull planning, work breakdown structures, and scheduling best practices.
• Utilize scheduling software, including Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to maintain coordination, accountability, and alignment with project objectives.

VDC, Preconstruction, and Prefabrication

• Lead detailed preconstruction planning following project award and before field installation begins.
• Support projects involving Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), including 2D and 3D modeling.
• Leverage prefabrication and kitting strategies to improve productivity and installation efficiency.
• Utilize Trimble Total Station and comparable technology solutions to support project layout and execution.

Processes, Procedures, and Technology

• Implement and maintain standardized processes and documented procedures across branch operations.
• Use technology platforms to support financial management, project management, and operational efficiency.
• Train teams on established procedures, ensure consistent implementation, and monitor compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen accountability, and enhance performance.

Client and Stakeholder Relations

• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships while balancing client satisfaction with business objectives.
• Build effective partnerships with contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in networking events and maintain regular communication with colleagues and leadership across the organization.
• Promote a positive workplace culture and foster long-term business relationships.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 6–7 years of electrical industry field experience.
• 4–5 years of management experience overseeing construction project teams, preferably focused on electrical systems and installations.
• Proven track record of delivering multiple large-scale electrical construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing project management teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region to support multiple project teams.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functional teams to achieve project goals while promoting safety, efficiency, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading project management teams.
• Strong proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• 10+ years of experience with critical and emergency electrical infrastructure or data center infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical estimating, estimating software, project scheduling, and budget management.
