Accounting Manager

Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accounting and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports financial reporting process including accuracy and preparation of financial statements with Division Headquarters. Provides analysis on financial statements. Prepares and posts all journal entries. Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews with Controller. Codes and reviews expense reports for payment. Provides analysis on inventory and value-add margin by customer. Responsible for two direct reports (AP and AR positions). Provides support and monitors performance. Provides backup for other financial functions which may include; Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Reviews daily customer billing activity prior to invoicing. Supports year-end financial statement audit and internal audit programs. Leads finance function for year-end physical inventory. Supports inventory cycle-count program, reports weekly performance metrics and initiates process improvements. Supports budget and forecasting process. Adheres to and implements all corporate financial policies, procedures and guidelines. Improves systems and procedures, initiates corrective actions. Generates ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Will travel to other company locations. Other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA preferred but not required. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; including 2-3 years’ experience with the Accounting close process 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience. Language Ability Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management. Math Ability Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced Excel skills and be proficient with the use of ERP systems (Mapics/XA experience a plus). Proficient with using Word and strong keyboarding skills. Supervisory Responsibilities Will supervise other employees in the Finance Department.
