About the Opportunity A lower middle-market private capital firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek a Buyout Analyst to support senior investment professionals across control buyout transactions , including leveraged buyouts, platform acquisitions, and add-on investments. This role is designed for candidates at the beginning of their private equity careers , offering hands‑on exposure to live buyout deals, rigorous financial modeling, and close interaction with investment team members in a lean, execution‑driven environment. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Buyout Analysis & Financial Modeling Build and maintain LBO models , operating models, and transaction analyses Analyze returns, leverage profiles, capital structures, and downside scenarios Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation methods Support screening and underwriting of new buyout opportunities Assist with diligence across financial, commercial, operational, and legal workstreams Analyze historical financials, forecasts, KPIs, and unit economics Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support investment theses Investment Committee & Deal Execution Support Prepare investment memoranda, financial exhibits, and IC presentation materials Summarize risks, return drivers, and value‑creation opportunities Support transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing Assist in coordinating advisors and managing deal processes Support ongoing portfolio company performance tracking Assist with KPI dashboards, reporting, and variance analysis Contribute to analysis for add‑on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit planning Provide analytical support related to operational and strategic initiatives What Makes This Work Engaging Direct exposure to control‑oriented buyout investing Hands‑on involvement in LBO modeling and transaction execution Interaction with company management teams, founders, and senior PE investors Accelerated learning across M&A, capital structures, and value creation Ideal Candidate Profile This profile reflects the competencies commonly sought for entry‑level buyout analyst roles .
