RN - OR Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room, Perioperative Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 0 Years Required License: Current, unencumbered RN licensure in Utah or compact state Certifications: Current BLS certification; current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire Must-Have: Available to take an average of 7-9 days of call per month with a 20-minute response time to the hospital.Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.A great team player with excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening.Cool tempered with emotional and physical stamina and the ability to respond effectively in stressful situations with changing circumstances. Preferred qualifications:Knowledge of surgical operation procedures is a bonus.Prior experience in pre-op and/or PACU is preferred.Be skilled in Pre-op, PACU, and Circulating all General, Ortho, and OB cases (C-sections).Be available to help in trauma cases in the ER.Be skilled at a level that provides confidence in caring for surgical patients overnight as the only OR nurse during emergency call cases.
