Pharmacy TechnicianCharleston, South CarolinaThe Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician supports the outpatient pharmacy operations by managing the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications, services, and procedures. This position performs routine and clerical function for drug distribution to patients and can perform independently within their scope of responsibility.Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 0-6months Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
