Job Summary
The Training Process Support Specialist is responsible for delivering technical training and customer enablement support for specialized power systems planning and infrastructure software. This role focuses on training customers on highly technical utility and power engineering applications used for electrical infrastructure planning and analysis. The position requires the ability to translate complex engineering and utility concepts into effective, user-friendly instruction through both virtual and in-person training environments. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in utility operations, power systems, electrical engineering, or related technical fields, along with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual and in-person technical training sessions for specialized power system planning and analysis software
- Facilitate customer learning through instructor-led sessions, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and practical application scenarios
- Support training activities related to CYME software and related utility infrastructure planning tools
- Explain complex utility and power engineering concepts in a clear, learner-friendly format
- Train customers on software functionality, workflows, and operational best practices
- Assess participant understanding and adjust instructional methods to support varying technical skill levels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure training materials align with current software functionality and customer needs
- Maintain training readiness including datasets, lab environments, and software configurations
- Gather learner feedback and recommend improvements to training delivery and learning effectiveness
- Support the development of blended learning content, virtual instruction materials, and self-paced learning resources
- Stay current on utility industry terminology, power systems concepts, and software updates
- Track and report training activities, attendance, and training outcomes as required
- Support customer adoption and operational understanding of infrastructure planning software solutions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering degree preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical training, customer enablement, utility operations, power systems, or related technical roles required
- Strong understanding of utility and power engineering terminology including kWh, kW, transmission, generation, load flow, and related concepts required
- Familiarity with electrical infrastructure planning, utility operations, or power systems environments preferred
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and train on highly technical software applications
- Experience delivering technical training or customer-facing instruction preferred
- Strong verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with CYME software is a plus, but not required
- Experience supporting software training, technical onboarding, or enterprise application training preferred
- This role focuses on software training and delivery rather than software development
Work Experience
- Experience within utility, power systems, electrical engineering, or related technical environments preferred
- Prior experience supporting technical software training or customer enablement preferred
- Experience with utility infrastructure planning or system planning concepts preferred
- Experience supporting virtual and in-person technical instruction preferred
