Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and certified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for an immediate travel assignment. This position is for night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to Universal Precautions standards.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality, and follow instructions carefully.
• Perform venipuncture as required.
• Conduct daily quality control and maintenance of equipment according to established guidelines.
• Complete testing in a timely and accurate manner.
• Operate and troubleshoot chemistry analyzers, urinalysis analyzers, hematology analyzers, and coagulation analyzers.
• Perform blood bank testing, including typing, RH, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and quality control.
• Conduct miscellaneous testing, including serological, microbiological, and microscopic analyses.
• Maintain professionalism and courtesy in communications with patients, laboratory staff, physicians, and colleagues.
• Communicate important information effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Uphold high standards of performance and conduct in all aspects of job duties.

Qualifications

• Current certification from ASCP or AMT is required.
• AHA BLS certification is mandatory at the time of submission.
• Blood bank experience is a plus.

Working Environment

Scrubs of any color are acceptable for this position. Familiarity with Cerner EMR is beneficial.
