Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Upstream, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Evaluating and assessing patients' physical conditions and needs through comprehensive examinations.
• Developing customized treatment plans based on physician referrals and individual patient assessments.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques in various modalities including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities for pain relief.
• Educating patients about their conditions and promoting exercises to facilitate recovery, enhancing their understanding of the rehabilitation process.
• Documenting patient progress accurately on a regular basis to ensure continuity of care and meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes through consistent communication and strategy development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, encompassing a wide range of specialties including orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine cases. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA or CAPTE-accredited program.
• A current State License in Physical Therapy to practice in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating strong relationships with patients and team members.
• Proficient computer and word-processing skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experience is preferred:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Experience working in a rehabilitation setting with a varied patient demographic.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices in physical therapy and current rehabilitation technologies.
