Key Responsibilities

• Direct the implementation of physical therapy treatments tailored to each client's needs, including pain relief, muscle rehabilitation, and enhancing daily functional abilities.
• Supervise the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure compliance with prescribed treatment plans and best practices.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical abilities through diagnostic tests on muscle, nerve, joint function, and overall abilities, establishing baseline metrics for progress.
• Assess the home environment for rehabilitation feasibility and make recommendations to enhance client independence.
• Provide in-home physical therapy services as prescribed by referring physicians and engage clients in therapeutic exercises.
• Utilize techniques such as manual therapy, traction, and other modalities to support recovery efforts.
• Evaluate, fit, and make adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary, collaborating closely with physicians on modifications.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation via clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to company policies.
• Collaborate within the interdisciplinary team, participating in case conferences and contributing to comprehensive care evaluations.
• Engage in dynamic feedback with clients and their families, ensuring their involvement in care decisions and education on therapy equipment and exercises.
• Supervise and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants, ensuring effective treatment delivery while meeting state supervision requirements.
• Provide regular assessments and adapt treatment plans based on client progress and changing needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate submission of orders, documentation, and billing per company policy.
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned to achieve facility goals and foster team collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience in a clinical role, preferably in acute care or home care settings.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia, with good standing.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required due to home visits.

Compensation and Benefits

Motion Menders Therapy offers a competitive salary within the range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
