Plant Maintenance Worker

Job Responsibilities Repair and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery that does not involve major disassembly or moving, including servicing, changing, and repairing disc grinding, emery, and buffing wheels. Repair and maintain plant equipment such as handrails, safety guards, dollies, hand trucks, and bench vises; replace external machine bearings, repair pump glands, replace pulleys and belts, and make minor adjustments. Maintain plant/facility grounds: repairing fences, maintaining signs, removing weeds, clearing dirt and debris from culverts and drainage ditches, and cleaning fence lines. Operate rider-driven power sweepers on or off company premises, exercising knowledge of traffic laws, plant trucking safety rules, practices, procedures, and company area conditions. Safely drive in confined areas, near buildings, parked vehicles, equipment, or aircraft; make operating and other adjustments necessary to maintain equipment. Drive sweeper to disposal areas to empty hopper; determine and report need for changing brushes and other maintenance required for reliability. Operate tugs, forklifts, tractors, boom/​scissor lifts, and plows when necessary. Qualifications Valid California DMV driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain an AFP42 airfield driver license. Experience maintaining and operating mobile equipment or machinery such as tugs, sweepers, forklifts, boom/​scissor lifts. Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and work at heights. Must obtain and retain a DoD Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen. Experience in any combination of: grounds‑keeping, heavy janitorial, light commercial general maintenance, light mechanical repair and maintenance. Desired Skills Street sweeping experience using commercial truck‑mounted sweeping equipment. Light machinery repair. Extensive gardening and landscaping experience. Self‑starter with the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust schedules to meet facility needs. Security Clearance Secret level; U.S. citizen required. Work Arrangement Onsite full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Schedule: 9‑80 every other Friday off. Alternate work schedules available, including standard 40‑hour week or condensed schedules for additional time off. Compensation and Benefits Base range in California: $24.83 – $43.92 per hour.
