POLICE OFFICER

Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the COMMAND NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND of JB PEARL HARBOR HICKAM SEC DET. Responsibilities You will be required to use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information. You will respond to and conduct preliminary investigations relating to critical incidents, e.g. traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, sexual assaults, child abuse/neglect, as required. You will interview witnesses, take statements, secure crime scenes, seizes and protect evidence, draft reports, and create incident diagrams. You will testify as required in Federal, Military, State/County/Municipal and administrative court proceedings. You will be required to conduct ongoing investigations of incidents ranging from simple rules violation to felon and capital crimes within prescribed limitations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Issuing citations in violation of law enforcement regulations; 2) Conducting investigations related to critical incidents i.e., traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, child abuse/neglect) in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Interviewing witnesses to gather information about incidents; and 4) Conducting inspections of vehicles to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives or any items detrimental to security. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
