Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator manages and maintains enterprise IT systems, ensuring availability, reliability, and security of infrastructure, while also providing technical support to resolve helpdesk issues and maintain high user satisfaction. Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and monitor corporate systems including servers (Windows/Linux), Active Directory, Exchange/O365, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‑V). Perform routine system maintenance, patch management, and backups. Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory. Troubleshoot and resolve Tier2 hardware, software, and network issues escalated from the helpdesk. Support onboarding/offboarding processes including provisioning accounts, hardware, and software. Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning and resource optimization. Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and assist in audits as required. Provide support for remote users, VPN, and mobile device management (MDM). Qualifications Must be able to work onsite in Windsor Mill, MD, five days a week. 3–5+ years of experience in system administration and helpdesk support. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange/O365, DNS, DHCP, and group policy management. Proficiency in troubleshooting Tier2 IT issues across hardware, software, and networking. Experience with virtualization platforms and backup solutions. Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools. Strong communication skills and a user‑focused mindset. Salary & Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, business needs, and applicable employment laws.
