Head of Program Management - Wealth
$163.6k - $245.4kCiti Group
Citi Wealth is seeking an exceptional Head of Program Management to join our Content & Client Engagement team — and to build the operational backbone of something genuinely ambitious. This is a senior leadership role that sits at the intersection of creative production and institutional rigour. Think of it as a Supervising Producer at the highest level of the craft — with the fiscal authority, operational scope, and strategic influence of a COO. You will be the force that turns creative ambition into delivered reality: on time, on budget, on standard, across every format the team produces. The Content & Client Engagement team is a growing, entrepreneurial undertaking inside one of the most powerful financial institutions in the world. The creative output is broad and genuinely varied — social content, short‑form and long‑form video, podcasts, whitepapers, research brochures, executive presentations, live events, client experiences, installations, and more. The standards are high. The environment is regulated. The pace is real. And the person who holds this role will be the reason it all runs. You will report directly to the Head of Content & Client Engagement and work in close, day-to-day partnership with the Director of Strategy — functioning as the operational counterpart to strategic vision. Where the Director of Strategy identifies the stories emerging from across the Wealth Management organisation, you are the person who translates them into tangible outputs at the speed of markets. That high‑rate metabolism is a defining characteristic of the role. You are built for it. At the same time, you bring equal command to the team's calendar of established obligations — marquee conferences and events, quarterly investment reports, annual surveys and flagship research publications — planning and resourcing them with the same precision you bring to the fast‑moving, real‑time output that runs alongside them. You hold both tempos simultaneously, without dropping either. You are also the person who closes the loop. Every piece of content this team produces is an investment — in the brand, in client relationships, in the business pipeline — and you treat it as one. You build and continuously refine the measurement frameworks that track the impact of that investment, folding the learnings back into how the team plans, resources, and makes decisions. You are always looking for better tools, better signals, and better questions to ask of the data. You have spent your career producing complex, multi‑format media at scale. You have priced campaigns that span disciplines, assembled the teams to execute them, delivered in high style, and overseen the measurement of their impact. You are as comfortable negotiating a vendor contract as you are building an annual budget from first principles or navigating the permitting requirements for a drone shoot in three jurisdictions. You bring a deep rolodex, consummate vendor relationships, and an instinct for when to build in‑house and when to bring in the best of the outside world. Critically, you balance your on‑time, on‑budget fixations with a genuine commitment to quality and differentiation. You are not here to make things cheaper. You are here to make things possible — and to make them excellent. This is a C14 SVP‑level role reporting directly to the Head of Content & Client Engagement, with authority across the full production pipeline, resource allocation, vendor relationships, budget ownership, and performance measurement for the team. Responsibilities: Production Operations & Pipeline Management Own and manage the end‑to‑end production workflow for the Content & Client Engagement team — across all formats, all markets, and all stages of production simultaneously. Design and maintain a production pipeline that gives the team clarity on what is in development, what is in production, what is in post, and what is live — at any given moment. Implement and operate the best available campaign and production management tools to provide real‑time visibility across multiple concurrent productions — and deliver regular, structured cadence reporting to leadership on status, risks, resource utilisation, and delivery timelines. Manage two distinct production tempos in parallel: the high‑rate, market‑responsive output that emerges from the team's ongoing strategic intelligence, and the established calendar of marquee events, quarterly reports, annual surveys, and flagship publications — ensuring both are planned, resourced, and delivered with equal rigour. Anticipate production bottlenecks, resource conflicts, and scheduling risks before they become problems — and resolve them when they do. Build and maintain production processes, workflows, and standards that scale as the team grows — without adding bureaucracy that slows the creative work down. Strategic Partnership with the Director of Strategy Work in close, daily partnership with the Director of Strategy — functioning as the operational engine that converts strategic editorial priorities into production reality. Translate stories, themes, and content opportunities identified from across the Wealth Management organisation into costed, resourced, scheduled productions — moving from brief to output at the speed the market demands. Maintain a shared view of the content pipeline with the Director of Strategy — ensuring that editorial ambition is always calibrated against production capacity, resourcing, and budget in real time. Contribute to strategic planning and content calendar development — bringing a producer's eye to what is feasible, what requires investment, and what needs to flex. Measurement, Impact & Continuous Improvement Own the team's measurement framework — establishing how the impact of every project is tracked, evaluated, and reported, from content engagement and audience reach through to contribution to the business pipeline and client relationship development. Treat measurement as a discipline, not an afterthought — building it into production planning from the outset, so that every project launches with clear success metrics and exits with a clear performance record. Conduct rigorous post‑project retrospectives and synthesise performance data into actionable learnings — feeding those learnings directly back into how the team plans future productions, allocates resources, and makes investment decisions. Continuously improve the accuracy, depth, and relevance of the team's measurement capability — staying ahead of available tools and methodologies, and adopting new platforms and approaches as they emerge. Build and maintain regular performance reporting for senior stakeholders — translating content metrics into business‑relevant language that connects creative output to commercial outcomes. Resource Planning & Allocation Lead all resource planning for the team — allocating internal talent, managing capacity, and identifying gaps that require external support. Match the right people — internal and external — to the right projects, balancing creative fit with operational efficiency. Build and maintain a deep, reliable network of external production specialists, freelancers, and agencies across disciplines — cinematography, editing, design, motion graphics, audio, events, experiential, and beyond — available to deploy at short notice and at the right level of quality. Advise on staffing and team structure as the function grows — with a clear view of where investment in permanent headcount is warranted versus where a flexible external model makes more sense. Budget Ownership & Fiscal Management Author, own, and manage the team's overall annual production budget — with the rigour, transparency, and accountability that a regulated financial institution demands. Build detailed project‑level budgets for individual productions and campaigns — from first estimate through to final reconciliation — across the full format spectrum: video, audio, print, digital, events, experiential, whitepapers, executive presentations, and more. Develop clear, substantiated investment cases for new initiatives, capability builds, and significant production expenditures — presenting them with the financial literacy and institutional credibility required to secure approval at senior levels. Track spend in real time, identify variances early, and manage the team's resources with genuine fiscal discipline — without sacrificing quality as a default cost‑saving measure. Ensure all production expenditure complies with Citi's procurement, contracting, and vendor management policies. Vendor & Third‑Party Management Own all vendor relationships on behalf of the Content & Client Engagement team — from boutique production houses to major event suppliers to specialist post‑production facilities, print and publishing vendors, and research distribution partners. Negotiate, structure, and manage contracts with third‑party suppliers — ensuring the team gets best value, appropriate protections, and consistently high performance from its external partners. Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and maintain a tiered supplier ecosystem that the team can draw on with confidence. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new specialist suppliers as the team's production ambitions evolve. Compliance, Permissions & Regulatory Diligence Operate with precision in Citi Wealth's high‑profile, highly regulated environment — ensuring that every production is legally compliant, properly permitted, and fully risk‑assessed before it goes into production. Own all permitting, licensing, releases, and regulatory requirements across production types — including location and event permitting, talent and music licensing, image and data rights, drone operation regulations across multiple jurisdictions, data privacy considerations for filmed content, broadcast and distribution rights, and print and digital publishing compliance. Partner with Citi's legal, compliance, and risk teams proactively — building relationships and processes that protect the team without creating unnecessary friction in the creative workflow. Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations across the team's key markets — New York, London, Hong Kong — and ensure production practices are consistently aligned. Team Leadership & Senior Collaboration Operate as a senior leadership presence within the Content & Client Engagement team — contributing to strategic planning, team culture, and the overall direction of the function alongside the Head of Content & Client Engagement. Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across Citi Wealth — including investment, marketing, legal, compliance, technology, and communications — to ensure productions are well‑supported, well‑informed, and institutionally aligned. Mentor and develop junior production and project management talent within the team. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. Qualifications: 10+ years of professional experience in production management, project management, or operations leadership within a multi‑format media, content, advertising, events, or broadcast environment — with a portfolio that spans the full range: social content, short‑form and long‑form video, podcasting, whitepapers, research publications, executive presentations, brochures, live events, installations, and 360‑degree campaigns. A proven track record as a 360‑degree campaign veteran — someone who has priced it, assembled the team, executed in high style, and overseen the measurement of impact across genuinely diverse production formats and disciplines. Demonstrated experience managing two‑speed production environments — high‑rate, market‑responsive output running in parallel with a structured calendar of flagship events, quarterly publications, and annual research programmes. A proven and rigorous approach to content measurement — with experience building or significantly evolving measurement frameworks that track impact from content engagement through to business pipeline contribution, and a track record of using those learnings to sharpen future production decisions. Exceptional fiscal literacy — with direct experience authoring and owning significant production budgets, building investment cases, and managing spend with institutional‑grade rigour and transparency. Deep expertise in production operations — pipeline design, resource planning, scheduling, vendor management, and real‑time production tracking using professional campaign and project management platforms. Consummate vendor and third‑party management skills — including contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and the ability to build and maintain a high‑quality, reliable external production ecosystem. Comprehensive knowledge of production compliance and regulatory requirements — including location and event permitting, talent and music licensing, image and data rights, drone regulations across multiple jurisdictions, and broadcast and digital distribution licensing. A deep and current network of production specialists, freelancers, agencies, and suppliers across disciplines — deployable at the right quality level, at short notice. Outstanding organisational skills and an exceptional eye for detail — in a regulated financial environment, the details are not optional. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — equally effective presenting a budget to a CFO, briefing a production crew, or partnering with a senior strategist on content priorities. A genuine commitment to quality and creative differentiation as production values — not just as aspirations. Education: Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred This job description provides a high‑level review of the types of work performed. Other job‑related duties may be assigned as required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience producing content within financial services — ideally wealth management, private banking, or asset management — with an understanding of the regulatory, reputational, and brand considerations that environment demands. Proven experience working in close operational partnership with a strategy or editorial leadership function — translating strategic priorities into production realities at pace. Experience operating within or alongside a regulated institutional environment — with established relationships with legal, compliance, and risk functions. Familiarity with AI‑assisted production management tools, content performance analytics platforms, workflow automation, and real‑time campaign reporting systems — and a proactive approach to adopting new measurement tools as they become available. Experience building or scaling a production function from an early stage — defining processes, establishing supplier ecosystems, and growing a team. International production experience — managing productions across multiple markets, time zones, and regulatory jurisdictions simultaneously. MBA or equivalent advanced degree — or demonstrable equivalent through career achievement. Core Competencies: Operational Mastery: You run complex, multi‑format production operations with the precision of a seasoned COO. Nothing falls through the cracks because you designed the system that catches it. Two‑Speed Fluency: You manage high‑rate, market‑responsive production and a structured calendar of flagship obligations simultaneously — holding both tempos without losing discipline or quality in either. Strategic Partnership: You are the operational counterpart to creative and editorial vision. You work hand in glove with strategy leadership to make ideas real — quickly, resourcefully, and at the right standard. Measurement Discipline: You close the loop on every project — tracking impact, synthesising learnings, and feeding them back to how the team works. You treat measurement as a craft, stay current with available tools, and are always looking for a more accurate, more useful signal. Fiscal Authority: You own budgets with the confidence and rigour of a finance professional — building investment cases, tracking spend, and making the numbers work without sacrificing the work. 360‑Degree Production Range: Your career spans the full spectrum — social, short and long‑form video, podcasting, whitepapers, research publications, executive presentations, live events, experiential, and beyond. You have priced it, built it, delivered it, and measured it. Vendor Excellence: Your external relationships are among your most valuable professional assets. You manage them with respect, hold them to a high standard, and know exactly who to call. Regulatory Precision: You operate in complex, regulated environments without flinching — understanding that compliance is not a constraint on ambition but a condition of it. Quality Under Pressure: You are fixated on on‑time and on‑budget delivery — and equally fixated on ensuring those fixations never become a reason to produce work that is merely adequate. Senior Leadership Presence: You carry the authority, credibility, and composure of a C‑suite operator. You lead by example, develop the people around you, and earn trust across the organisation.
