DOT Construction is seeking a hands-on Onsite Working Foreman to run daily jobsite operations while actively working alongside a 2 to 3-person crew. In this role, you will lead by example "on the tools," keep production moving at a high standard, and manage day-to-day layout, material staging, and GC coordination for commercial interior finish packages.

Field Leadership & Production

• Lead on the Tools: Work actively alongside a 3 to 5-person crew while running the site. You must be able to personally install commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, FRP, doors/hardware, and exterior finishes.
• Keep the Crew Moving: Set clear daily and weekly production goals for your team. Track labor hours against the project estimate, spot when the job is slowing down, and fix it before it falls behind.
• Build it Right: Read and interpret construction blueprints, architectural details, and specs to ensure zero rework or major punch-list items.
• Develop Your Crew: Mentor and train your men to handle more responsibility and step up into future foreman roles.

Planning & Logistics

• Look Ahead: Keep a rolling 2 to 3-week outlook on your schedule. Figure out exactly how many guys and what materials you will need before the work starts.
• Material Management: Call in and coordinate material deliveries with the project manager so your crew always has what they need staged and ready to install.
• Site Safety: Maintain a clean, organized jobsite. Lead quick toolbox talks and ensure your crew complies with basic OSHA and company safety standards.

Communication & Documentation

• Catch Conflicts Early: Review drawings ahead of time to spot missing information or bad field conditions. Get RFIs (Requests for Information) to the project management team before it delays your crew.
• Coordinate with Other Trades: Work professionally alongside the General Contractor (GC) and other trade foremen on-site to keep the overall schedule on track.
• Cover the Extra Work: Never perform out-of-scope work or change orders without documenting the extra labor and materials and getting approval from the project team first.
• Daily Reporting: Complete straightforward daily log documentation tracking manpower, what was accomplished, and any site issues.
