This is an onsite position in Tallahassee, Florida.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

DEP’s Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is currently seeking an Information Technology Analyst. This is a varied and highly responsible position involving technical and administrative work supporting the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Team within the Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS). The person in this position must be capable of working independently and performing duties without detailed instructions or close supervision, and must assume responsibility willingly and with minimum orientation, as well as communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

This position supports the goals and initiatives of the agency’s Information Technology Strategic Plan; maintains strong working relationships with DEP staff, partners, vendors, and customers; serves as a customer service representative for the division through all communication channels and service desk interactions; applies established policies, procedures, and directives to complete assigned responsibilities; and maintains accurate, organized asset records and documentation to support IT asset maintenance, disposition activities, and knowledge transfer. Employee is expected to provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service while representing the Department and the State.

• Manages the full lifecycle of agency IT assets from deployment through retirement, including operation, maintenance, reassignment, decommissioning, and disposal. Maintains accurate inventory records for desktops, laptops, monitors, peripherals, mobile devices, and other IT equipment within Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and related systems. Monitors asset age, warranty status, refresh eligibility, and replacement schedules, and supports IT asset refresh initiatives. Tracks software installations, licensing, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, and renewal dates to ensure compliance and continuity.

Lifecycle activities include:

• • • Operation – Active use and monitoring of deployed assets
    • Maintenance – Servicing, repairs, and warranty coordination
    • Reassignment – Transfer and redistribution of assets to new users
    • Decommission – Removal from active production use
    • Retirement – Secure surplus, recycling, or compliant disposal

• Coordinates repair, replacement, reassignment, and warranty activities for agency IT assets. Works with Desktop Support, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure timely maintenance and issue resolution. Maintains accurate asset records, including tags, serial numbers, user assignments, locations, and status. Performs inventory reconciliation and physical verification, resolving discrepancies between systems and assets in support of internal and external audits.
• Supports the centralized PC refresh process by coordinating the secure disposal or repurposing of replaced IT assets in accordance with agency policy and applicable regulations. Ensures approved data sanitization or destruction prior to disposition. Maintains required documentation, including transfer records, surplus actions, disposal certificates, and chain-of-custody logs. Coordinates with property custodians and surplus staff during disposal activities.
• Coordinates with Business Management Services (BMS), Procurement, and Finance on asset purchasing, receiving, tagging, and inventory reconciliation. Reviews purchase and receiving documentation for accuracy and assists with onboarding new IT equipment into inventory systems. Generates inventory and lifecycle reports as needed and supports documentation of procedures and process improvements for ITAM operations.
• Supports the agency’s endpoint vulnerability mitigation program.
• Performs related work as required, including support for IT asset projects and operational initiatives. Provides backup support to ITAM team members and participates in cross-functional OTIS efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management principles, including deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposition of technology assets.
• Knowledge of information technology hardware, software, and peripheral lifecycle standards.
• Knowledge of software asset management principles, including licensing, compliance, and maintenance agreements.
• Knowledge of inventory control, property accountability, procurement, receiving, and asset reconciliation practices.
• Knowledge of data security practices, including secure data sanitization and disposal standards.
• Skill in the use of enterprise asset management and inventory tracking systems.
• Skill in maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting in automated systems.
• Skill in analyzing data and resolving discrepancies between physical assets and system records.
• Skill in the use of standard office productivity software for data management and reporting.
• Ability to apply policies, procedures, and technical standards to assigned work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments within established deadlines.
