Vice President of Accounting

The VP of Finance & Accounting will serve as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team while fully owning the company’s day-to-day financial, accounting, and compliance operations. This role requires a unique blend of high-level financial strategy (capital allocation, forecasting, and business intelligence) and deep operational governance. Crucial System Requirement: Because our organization relies entirely on NetSuite to run our global operations, the incoming leader must have extensive, verifiable experience operating within a NetSuite ERP environment. You will not be coding or configuring the system, but you must intimately understand its financial reporting capabilities, consolidation functions, and data structures to drive accurate executive decision-making. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership & Business Intelligence Executive Advisory: Partner with leadership to provide rigorous financial modeling, variance analysis, and long-range strategic planning to support corporate growth objectives. KPI & Performance Tracking: Develop, monitor, and deliver high-impact financial dashboards and performance metrics that translate complex operations into actionable executive insights. Cash Flow & Capital Management: Oversee corporate treasury, working capital optimization, and capital allocation strategies to ensure maximum liquidity and high ROI. Accounting Governance & Fiscal Operations Close Management: Oversee the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring a tight, accurate, and highly efficient monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process. System Oversight (NetSuite): Serve as the functional executive sponsor for our NetSuite platform. Maximize its capability for automated financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and multi-state/global tax structures. Controls & Compliance: Maintain, enforce, and continuously upgrade a robust internal internal controls framework to safeguard corporate assets and ensure compliance with relevant GAAP and statutory guidelines. Audit & Tax Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax professionals, insurance brokers, and financial institution partners. Team Development & Operational Excellence Leadership: Mentor, scale, and inspire a lean, high-performing corporate accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous accountability and professional growth. Process Optimization: Continuously identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks by automating manual data manipulation and refining internal workflows. Qualifications & Experience Experience: 10+ years of progressive corporate financial leadership experience, with at least 3+ years in a Director, Controller, or VP capacity within a middle-market or enterprise environment. ERP Requirement: Absolute proficiency and hands-on professional familiarity with NetSuite ERP is strictly required. Candidates must demonstrate prior success leveraging NetSuite for advanced financial closing, multi-entity consolidation, and customized reporting. Core Skill Set: Exceptional expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow management, and advanced corporate accounting principles (GAAP). Background/Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An active CPA license or an MBA is highly preferred. Leadership Style: A hands-on, player-coach mentality. You should be equally comfortable presenting high-level forecasts to corporate stakeholders as you are diving into the weeds of a complex financial ledger to solve an operational bottleneck.
