Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IMC (Intermediate Care) position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, working night shifts on a 13-week travel contract.

Details

• Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR experience required
• Patient population includes cardiovascular (post-MI), neurological (CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury), renal, oncology, orthopedic, and surgical patients
• Clinical skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central/PICC line and port management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, heparin and insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, and wound/wound vac care

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — license hits not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Must reside outside of the following TX counties to be eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

Additional Information

• Previous permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler at this facility
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• All RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted for this position
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4–6 hours for RNs
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
